Wow. It is HOT in the Lowcountry…let me tell you. And I happened to photograph Melanie and her sweet family on one of the hottest evenings yet while they were visiting on vacation. BUT – that did not stop us from getting some adorable family photos in historic downtown Charleston. Enjoy!
After four children and twenty-two years of marriage, Vickie and Scott decided to renew their vows at the Battery in downtown Charleston, SC. It was perfectly romantic and fairytale-like. Vickie arrived in a horse drawn carriage as her prince charming waited to see her. Their ceremony was simple and sweet. Just them and an officiant. Scott went off script during the vows - “you’re my best friend” – he said. After the ceremony we took some photos before they drove away in their carriage.
Perfectly romantic.
Enjoy some of my favorites.
I loved, LOVED, loved getting to be a part of Amber and Andy’s downtown Charleston, SC wedding. Amber has a fun and spunky personality that keeps her friends and Andy laughing. Plus, she and Andy are gorgeous together, so what’s not to love about that?
I started the day with the girls at a home in Mt. Pleasant before heading downtown for the ceremony at Bethel United Methodist Church. After the ceremony, a party bus took us to various spots in historic downtown Charleston before ending at the Francis Marion for their reception. I am thankful for Reese Moore who was my second shooter and amongst many things, photographed the guys getting ready while I was with the girls. Several of the shots in this post are hers.
As usual . . . my FAVORITE photos of the day, by far, are the portraits . . . and since my sweet husband recommended that I start with my favs, I am front loading them all to the beginning of this post. After you get to see the bride, groom and their wedding party throughout historic Charleston, then, you will see the day in the order that it unraveled.
Enjoy!
(PS…vendors who made their day amazing include: Cakes by Kasarda, Tiger Lily Florist, Finger Snappin Entertainment (transportation & DJ) and Francis Marion Catering.)
Amongst the gorgeous setting, incredible golden light and simple yet elegant decor – what really stands out to me from Nicole and Steven’s wedding day was the joy that was so apparently present. Nicole beamed ear to ear as she first saw Steven, watched him put her wedding ring on her hand and laughed during portraits - she just could not hide her joy. And neither could the family and friends who watched this couple become husband and wife.
The vendors who made this day possible included:
Coordination | A Southern Ceremony
Venue | Alhambra Hall
Catering & Bar | Mosaic Catering
Band | Emerald Empire Band
Cake | Rachel Jacob
Hair/Makeup | Tabula Rasa & Lauren Wood
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted photos of my crazy, curly-haired, sweet baby James. Snapped these on a beautiful evening in Hilton Head and thought I’d share.
Thankful for him!
Love what we ended up getting!
Enjoy.
Lisa and Trip’s love story is one of college sweethearts who parted ways and eventually reconnected. While Lisa had no idea back in college that he was the one, she says that Trip always knew she was the love of his life. So today, as I post their elegantly simple Tampa wedding, I am celebrating second chances!
The ceremony took place at the Academy of Holy Names and then the guests headed to Armani’s for a late lunch reception. The beautiful rooftop restaurant was all theirs for the afternoon. The weather, which could have been a downpour like the day before, held off for us – but filled the sky with clouds, which was very helpful for mid-day wedding photos on Bayshore Boulevard.
Major props to the gorgeous J Crew dresses worn by Lisa and her bridesmaids. And the beautiful flowers provided by La Vie en Rose.
We’ll start with the portraits (my fav and go to the order of the day) . . . and, since I have been trying to post more black and whites, will mix in some of those too! Enjoy!
I met up with Lisa and her girls in the hotel room just as she was putting on some finishing touches . . .
Then it was off to the Academy . . . . . . where Trip was waiting to marry her.
After the ceremony and portraits, we headed to Armani’s for their sweet, beautiful luncheon. As you’ll see, their guest really enjoyed themselves.
A few more snapshots of the bride and groom . . .
. . . and then they lived happily ever after. Congratulations Lisa and Trip! Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding day.
I was just on the back side of my blog doing some purging and found this post in “drafts”. I have no idea why it never got published but – better late than never, right? Enjoy this precious family, whose daughter has changed significantly since our photo session months ago.
Brook and Jamie came into town to visit their new nephew (photos to come) and decided to take advantage of a photo session on gorgeous Folly Beach since Rowen is about to be one. It was windy but oh so pretty. Enjoy. I had so much fun getting to know Andy and Amber as we explored downtown Charleston looking for the perfect places to stop with their entire wedding party on their wedding day in November. They are sweet with one another, so in love, and excited for their upcoming wedding day. Enjoy these pretty pictures of a pretty couple :)
